The GENYS is not only a network; it is rather a Network of Networks. GENYS involves the Network President,
Network Steering Committee, the Officer, the Thematic Sub-Networks including thematic coordinators and members,
and the Working Groups.
The main goals of GENYS are to:
empower the potential of young scientists and promote German Egyptian scientific excellence,
provide the young scientists with the latest research results in both countries,
increase awareness of global and society-relevant issues amongst young scientists,
facilitate the participation of young scientists in German Egyptian research projects,
become a general umbrella helping grass-roots initiatives attain a global reach,
help transferring and adapting know how from Germany to Egypt according to Egyptian local needs.
The following is our message to any potential researcher to join the GENYS:
Meet other young scientists from both countries and in disciplines mentioned above.
Exchange advice and contacts regarding developing scientific careers.
Seek feedback on your work, its applicability to other disciplines, and publishing opportunities.
Become part of a network of future scientific leaders, including those like yourself who could become
journal editors, research grant donors, and department heads.
Develop international and cross-discipline collaborations, leading to cutting-edge science.
Foster science education, outreach, and in-reach by learning and teaching your peers and their
non-scientific communities about your work.
